The drama began to unfold around 8:40 a.m. on a Thursday morning at the school located at 4649 Horn Lake Road. A resource officer from the Memphis-Shelby County Schools alerted local police, reporting that a young student was brandishing a gun in the classroom. Alarmingly, it seems the 6-year-old was not just holding the weapon but was passing it around to classmates, creating a highly dangerous scenario.

Quick action was taken by school staff, who managed to recover the gun from the child’s backpack. According to the official affidavit, this firearm was not just any gun; it had been reported stolen and was found fully loaded, heightening the severity of the situation. As a result of this reckless situation, the mother identified as Ke’Erinie King, only 22 years old, now faces multiple serious charges.
