Just three weeks after criticizing New York 50 Cent for spending half a million dollars on police presence at his festival in Shreveport, Louisiana, a native of the city, rapper Hurricane Chris , is back to blasting the big dawgs who chose Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar to headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans over NOLA native Lil Wayne and other rap legends from the area.

As a refresher, on August 18, Shreveport rapper Hurricane Chris accused Queens rapper 50 Cent of taking advantage of his hometown his successful music and comedy festival. Chris claimed 50 and the city of Shreveport made out like fat rats in a cheese factory at the cost of the youth and other citizens.

After news broke on Sunday (September 8) of Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar headlining the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on February 9, 2025, Hurricane Chris is back to tell everybody, “I tried to tell y’all!”

Firing off on his Instagram, Chris said in a video, “So, now you n***as understanding, huh? Same motherf***ing sh*t that I was just saying 50 Cent did in Shreveport… now it’s happening in New Orleans on a bigger scale. People like Master P commenting on it and now everybody understand? I just made this same f**ing statement… But I guess, you know, ‘cause I ain’t my brother, motherf***ers ain’t get it.”

Chris added, “Well, I’m glad that it’s going down like it’s going down. God told me to just sit back and motherf***ers’ eyes was gon’ be opened. It don’t matter whether you’re small or big… It don’t matter whether you’re large.. It don’t matter whether you’re tiny… Homage is owed. Respect is owed.”

He stated, “You’re supposed to pay respect to the motherf***ers that lay the foundation before you. I wouldn’t give a damn what your organization is… I wouldn’t give a damn how much money you spent… I wouldn’t give a damn what you did. When you walk into a house, you speak to everybody who lives in that house and you pay respect to everybody who lives in the house.”

He continued, “I’m from the South. Now, wherever you’re from, you go do what you do, wherever you go do it. But, when you come to the South, y’all gotta show more respect than this, bruh. We got our own culture here. N***as coming down here laughing and playing games, thinking they’re just going to use their money and take over everything. It ain’t going down like that.”

Chris insisted, “We’re going back to that old f***ing law. You n***as stepping on turf gon’ do what you’re supposed to do or you gon’ pack your sh*t up and get the f**k on somewhere. All that ‘nice guy’ sh*t out that window. F**k being nice. F**k trying cop deuces. Take back every nice word I said to you n***as. Get your f***ing mind right or we’re gon’ make n***as get their minds right. How about that?”

These are signs of irrelevance. He feels ignored, broke, and unworthy. He acts like he owns the South or Shreveport. He's a slave descendent. That's where it ends.
