Justin Timberlake will not face any jail time, as he has been sentenced to community service following a guilty plea in connection with a DUI case.

As previously reported, Timberlake was arrested in June for driving under the influence after allegedly running a stop sign. The arresting officer noted that Timberlake was “unable to follow police instructions correctly” and that there was a noticeable odor of alcohol. A detailed field sobriety report also indicated that Justin “started too soon” during a heel-to-toe test, skipped steps—including all nine steps on his second attempt—turned incorrectly, and stepped out of line six times.

Reports further stated that Timberlake declined to take a breathalyzer test and allegedly refused to acknowledge a warning that his refusal could be used as evidence against him in court. Consequently, his refusal to take the test led to an immediate suspension of his driving license while the legal matters were assessed.

Ultimately, The former NSYNC star pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of “driving while ability impaired” and was handed down community. Outside the courthouse, Timberlake made a statement, saying, “Many of you have properly been covering me for a lot of my life, and as you may know, I try to hold myself to a very high standard for myself, and this was not that. I found myself in a position where I could have made a different decision, but I’ve had some time to reflect on that.”

He continued, “I have a platform, you have a platform, we have a platform. Even if you’ve had one drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car—call a friend, call an Uber. There are many travel apps. This is a mistake I made, and I hope everyone listening to this will learn from my mistake. But like I said, even with one drink, don’t get behind the wheel.”

Concluding his statement, he said, “I grew up in a small town, and I can appreciate the strange or unique nature of this for Sag Harbor. Thank you to everyone in the courtroom. I guess, in closing, we can all be more safe out there. I’m going to do my part. I hope everyone does their part. Thank you very much.”

Most importantly, Mr. Timberlake needs to stay away from criticism of Brittany Spears for telling her truth in regards to him.
