Nicki Minaj took the time to share some encouraging words to Lil Wayne after he shared a video on social media addressing him not selected to headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

As we previously shared, Nicki Minaj has openly addressed her remarks about Lil Wayne’s exclusion from the Super Bowl Halftime Show, emphasizing that she holds no negative feelings toward Kendrick Lamar, who was chosen to headline the event instead of Wayne. Just a few days ago in a series of social media posts, Nicki suggested that JAY-Z’s decision to overlook Wayne, despite the Super Bowl being held in his hometown, New Orleans, was driven by JAY-Z’s animosity toward both her and Drake.

While reacting to Lil Wayne’s recent video, Nicki Minaj shared a lengthy message to uplift Wayne after opened up about the whole situation. “This too, shall pass – but what you have done for the Hip Hop culture will remain. It will stand the TEST of time. Many times our greatest and most dehumanizing TEST is just a way for God to get the glory. You were simply used in a war of egos. To people who are empty inside, all they have is their temporary power. Now everyday these wicked people are spending money to circulate the worst of you. But the lord will nullify each and every single attempt and not only will it return to sender, it will be replaced with the best of you.”

“You are human. They are not and never will be perfect,” she continued. And when they go out their way to circulate the worst of human beings, the worst of them shall be circulated and magnified, TOO!!!!! It will be their demise. The lord has warned them time and time again. Their stone cold hearts believe they are above reproach but this time they’ll regret it.”

In an Instagram post on Friday (Sept. 13), Lil Wayne elaborated on why it took him some time to address the booking that left him feeling “broken.” He also expressed appreciation for the friends and colleagues who have shown their support and raised questions about why he was overlooked.

“First of all, I want to say forgive me for the delay. I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking,” said a somber, clearly dispirited Wayne. “I’mma say thank you to every voice, every opinion, all the care, all love and support out there. Your words turned into arms and held me up when I tried to fall back.”

Wayne, sitting on a couch and wearing a red, white, and blue track jacket paired with red shorts, opened up about how deeply the news affected him.

“That hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot,” he said haltingly. “I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown. And for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that. But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot.”
