LeBron and Savannah James had a heartfelt moment with the woman who helped during their son Bronny’s cardiac arrest last year. They thanked the first responder for saving Bronny’s life.

In their new Netflix docuseries, “Starting 5,” which premiered on Wednesday, the couple shared details about Bronny’s medical emergency. In one scene, LeBron James visited the USC Trojans’ locker room with his mother, Gloria. He hugged a training staff member named Erin, who did CPR on Bronny during that scary day last July.

LeBron James said that if it weren’t for Erin and the entire USC Trojans program, Bronny might not be alive today. This made him very emotional. “They are the reason Bronny is alive now,” James said, “and smiling and thriving and doing what any 19-year-old should be doing and that’s living out their dream.”

Savannah, who had Bronny when she was just 18, also cried as she remembered the incident. She expressed how “super grateful” she is that Bronny survived.

Now, as a second-round draft pick, Bronny is playing on the same NBA court as his dad, making them the first father-son duo in league history. LeBron is just as excited about Bronny’s journey before turning pro, noting that Bronny is the first in their family to attend college.

“To see my son playing the game that he loves at the collegiate level, but to see where he is as a young man, you’re like, “Wow, it could have been, you know, so much worse for our family.”

LeBron and Bronny made their first appearance together during the Lakers’ preseason game on October 6, and it was a truly special moment for both of them.
