    Holt - Clifford Dahle, 93, of Holt, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Karlstad Senior Living, Karlstad. Clifford LeRoy Dahle was born November 6, 1930 in Mayville, ND, the son of Theodore and Cora (Stigen) Dahle. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Cliff attended Northfield Country School in North Dakota. From 1948 until 1951, Cliff worked as a farm hand for Jorde Bros., Maza, ND. On January 27, 1951, Cliff entered into service with the United States Marine Corps. He served in Korea and Japan during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged on June 9, 1952. Cliff was decorated with the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Medal. On April Fool’s Day in 1953, Clifford met Norma Faye Horien in St. Hilaire. The couple fell in love and were married on October 9, 1953 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt. Together they made their home in Holt, eventually moving one mile north to the family farm where they have since made their home. To this union three children were born, Christi, Lori and Jeffrey. Cliff loved living on the farm, raising cows, sheep, and other animals all the while working as a mechanic at Tunberg Motors in Thief River Falls. Cliff loved playing blackjack tournaments at the casino with his son and all of the friends he had met. He enjoyed camping, fishing, deer hunting and traveling with Norma to Branson and Graceland. Cliff was a lifelong member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2793 in Thief River Falls. Cliff is survived by his children, Christi Halbasch of Thief River Falls, Lori Frericks (Tom McCauley) of Thief River Falls, and Jeff (Deanna) Dahle of Holt; grandchildren, Kia (Oak) Vichaikul of Thief River Falls, Brian (Tiffany) Halbasch of Park Rapids, Lacy Dahle (Ryan Restemayer) of Bemidji, Ashley (Paul) Hejlik of Thief River Falls, Josh (Ashley) Dahle of Holt, and Blake (Katelyn Athmann) Halbasch of Monticello; great-grandchildren, Aliya Hejlik, Ali Roberts, and Shae Halbasch, Kal and Emi Vichaikul, Brooklynn, Brennon, and Briggs Dahle, and Layla, Kennedy, and Lincoln Restemeyer; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; parents, Theodore and Cora Dahle; siblings, Esther Anderson, Thorman Dahle, Reuben Dahle, and Marvin Dahle; great-grandchildren, Destiny Kilen and Gannon Hejlik; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and favorite dog, Sam. The funeral service to celebrate Cliff’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, with Rev. Sheila Michaels officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Holt Cemetery in Holt. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2793, American Legion Post 117, and Marine Corps Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent at www.johnsonfuneralservice.com.
