    Fireworks in these western Mass. locations this weekend

    MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) – Four communities in western Massachusetts are holding their 4th of July celebrations this weekend.

    Friday, June 28

    • Holyoke: Dusk at Holyoke Community College Rain Date: 6/30/2024

    Saturday, June 29

    • Chicopee: Dusk at Szot Park – 927 Sgt. Tracy Dr. Rain Date: 6/30/2024
    • Easthampton: 9:30 p.m. at 95 Park Hill Road Rain Date: 6/30/2024
    • Westfield: 9:15 p/m. at South Middle School Field – 30 W. Silver St.

    The Holyoke July 4th Celebration event will be held at Holyoke Community College beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday. Food for purchase, activities for children, and music will be available.

    The Chicopee Fireworks are being held at Szot Park and can be viewed from Main field. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday with limited food options, face painting, and novelty items being sold. A live musical performance will be by Moose and the High Tops.

    Thunder in the Valley Concert & Fireworks Festival takes place on Saturday at Molitoris Farm on 95 Park Hill Road in Easthampton. Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance for $20 or at the event for $25. Five bands are scheduled to play that include Shovelhead, Scotty Austin, Bennie & the Jets, Trailer Trash, and That Arena Rock Show. From 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. food trucks will be available, activities and games for kids, and all funds raised will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network at Baystate Children’s Hospital.

    The City of Westfield is holding its annual Fireworks for Freedom celebration beginning at 5 p.m. at the South Middle School on West Silver Street. Food vendors, children activities, and live entertainment by  Korey & The Knightsmen will kick off the night.
