18-year-old Sayreville man charged with murder in Swider Drive shooting

SAYREVILLE – An 18-year-old borough man has been charged with the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old borough man in an apartment building parking lot on Aug. 20.

Daniel Adediran, 18, was arrested Aug. 28 without incident and charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, in the death of Jeremiah Brown , according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities received a 911 call about 9:50 p.m. Aug. 20 reporting a shooting on Swider Drive where arriving officers located Brown with a fatal gunshot wound, the prosecutor’s office said.

An investigation revealed Adediran shot Brown, according to the prosecutor’s office, but no motive has been provided. Adediran and Brown knew each other, the prosecutor’s office added.

Adediran was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick pending the results of his pre-trial detention hearing.
