    THURSDAY’S RESULTS

    Westfield 21, North Brunswick 13: Jordan Walsh rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and Blake Rudow added 117 yards on the ground for the host Blue Devils (3-3). Walsh scored on runs of 9 and 4 yards as Westfield took a 14-13 lead into halftime. Wash went 5-for-7 for 89 passing yards. Colin Coyle scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter, and Nikolas Lukis made three extra points. Jahir Dawud rushed for two scores for North Brunswick (1-6).

    Elizabeth 26, Morristown 24: Sophomore quarterback Arique Fleming scored on a six-yard touchdown run as time expired to lift the Minutemen (3-4) to the comeback win over Morristown (3-4). Elizabeth trailed 24-14 in the fourth quarter before rallying for the road win. Fleming rushed for 67 yards on 11 carries and was 12-for-20 for 114 passing yards and threw a 7-yard score to Nahjae Smith (five catches for 50 yards). Joseph Desir rushed for two scores (1 and 28 yards) and 77 yards on 10 carries. Quameen Williams had a sack in the win.

    Cranford 45, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 13: Gabriel Worrell ran for 112 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns as Cranford (4-2) won its second straight. The Cougars piled up 199 rushing yards on 32 carries and totaled 254 total yards on 44 plays. Dylan Jones rushed for 44 yards on five carries and a touchdown, while Justin Hoeffler had a scoop and score off a strip sack. Cristiano Ambrosio went 6-for-6 on extra points and was 1-for-1 on field goal attempts. He also recorded a tackle on a kick return. Cranford held Scotch Plains-Fanwood (2-5) to under 25 yards of offense in the first half.

    Ridge 41, Hunterdon Central 13: Aidan Stieglitz rushed for five touchdowns, including a 52-yard scamper, to lead the Red Devils to their fifth straight win. Ridge has outscored its last three opponents by 137-30. Stieglitz also scored on runs of 6, 19, 8 and 6 yards. He finished with 115 rushing yards on nine carries. Connor McLachlan threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Joseph Dachnowicz (three catches for 76 yards) and was 10-for-12 with 193 passing yards. Ryan Turner and Matthew Bober each snagged an interception in the win, while Andrew Dachnowicz had a team-high nine tackles and a sack and David Hamilton chipped in eight tackles. Nate Schneider and Nate Engdahl had a sack apiece.

    Old Bridge 38, Monroe 0: Jeremiah Dixon rushed for 125 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown as Old Bridge (4-3) earned the shutout with 378 yards on the ground. Justin Valinotti led the defense with 17 tackles (13 solo) and forced a fumble. Amari Alsbrook had 67 yards on two carries and a score and Aiden Rios chipped in a touchdown with 62 yards on nine carries. Brody Hunt added 68 yards on nine carries. Tasye Walker recovered a fumble and had eight tackles and Jayden Endaz had 10 tackles. Monroe fell to 3-4.

    Metuchen 40, J.P. Stevens 6: Three players had a hand in two touchdowns apiece as Metuchen (5-2) earned the balanced win. Jason Woods rushed for scores of 2 and 15 yards and Evan Toth crossed the end zone twice on carries of 1 and 2 yards. Additionally, Ryan Toth threw a 30-yard score to Cam Hayes-Durina and a 22-yard touchdown to Justus Leitner. Kyle Johnston led the defense with a pair of sacks and two tackles for losses.

    J.F. Kennedy 39, North Plainfield 26: Richie Trotman threw three touchdown passes and Fiheem Howell Jr. rushed for two scores as the Mustangs (3-4) remained in first place in the Big Central Conference United Silver Division. Trotman fired a 23-yard touchdown pass to Zack Tyler, a 28-yard scoring pass to Grant Lorentzen and a 10-yard score to Lee Tobon. Howell scored on runs of 7 and 1 yards for JFK, which led 26-14 at halftime. Manny Perez-Quijano added a 2-yard touchdown run in the win. Aaron Potts had touchdown runs of 13 and 11 yards for North Plainfield (1-5) and Julius King scored on a 2-yard run.

    Somerville 56, North Hunterdon 7: Terrell Mitchell and Josh Rodriguez combined for five touchdowns in the first quarter as Somerville cruised to its seventh straight win. The Pioneers (7-0) led 37-0 after the first quarter and 50-7 at halftime. Mitchell opened the game with an 83-yard kickoff return for a score and later caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Brenden Pacheco and bolted for a 75-yard touchdown. The Wake Forest-commit also scored on a 60-yard run in the third quarter. Rodriguez, meanwhile, scored on a pair of 1-yard runs and added two 2-point conversion catches from Pacheco and a 2-point run, all in the first quarter. Justin Bowen added a 6-yard touchdown run and Leo Altomari scored on a 14-yard run in the win. Jackson Przbylski added two extra points. Cole O’Connor scored on a 16-yard run for North Hunterdon (2-5).

    Pingry 15, Rye Country Day 14: Rafferty Harris and Connor Albert stopped a 2-point conversion attempt with 8 seconds left as Pingry held on for the win. Ryan Moye had a 76-yard touchdown pass to brother Jack Moye for the Big Blue (2-4). Harris also bolted for a 70-yard touchdown run and had a two-point conversion run, while Finn Cavanaugh kicked an extra point in the win.
