A 100-acre fire in Homeland was 75% contained on Saturday with extensive mop-up efforts underway to extinguish a hot spot, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 2:11 p.m. Friday near Juniper Flats Road and Mapes Road.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, an evacuation order was issued Friday, affecting residents and businesses between Falcon View Lane and Juniper Flats Road, but that order has been lifted and Juniper Flats was opened at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately available.

On Friday, firefighters also responded to a vegetation fire in Cabazon. The blaze was first reported at 12:47 p.m. at the intersection of Date Street and Lemon Street, according to a Riverside County Fire Department statement. Three structures in a neighborhood were destroyed before officials contained the half-acre fire at 4:25 p.m.

The fire knocked out power but was later restored to the area.
