Garrett Crochet’s trade demands leave only one real suitor, per insider
Of all the pitchers available ahead of Tuesday's MLB trade deadline, Garrett Crochet is probably the best. The fireball-throwing southpaw has been outright dominant for the Chicago White Sox, posting a 3.07 ERA and .970 WHIP through 111.1 innings and 21 starts. At 25, he still has a long runway ahead of him and multiple years of team control over his contract.

CHICAGO (CBS) –The Chicago Bears put on the pads for the first time this training camp on Friday and the energy levels were up, especially considering it was also the first practice fully open to fans."We're all in pads, finally. Chicago Bears release first unofficial depth chart

Cardinals Urged to Make Blockbuster Trade With Rival Cubs
The St. Louis Cardinals need an outfield bat and there’s a division rival with one available. Chicago Cubs fans, look away. Cody Bellinger could be a perfect fit for the Cardinals as they angle for a National League wild-card berth, and that’s exactly what ESPN’s David Schoenfield urged.
The San Francisco 49ers Will Trade Trent Williams to the Chicago Bears
In more drama coming from the San Francisco 49ers, offensive lineman Trent Williams is holding out of training camp alongside Brandon Aiyuk. Unlike Aiyuk, Williams isn’t seeking an extension to his current contract but is looking for guaranteed money. At this point in his career, Williams knows any given snap could be his last, yet he remains arguably the best tackle in the league. Williams, who just turned 36 years old, has three seasons left on his contract, but none of it is guaranteed. He is scheduled to make solid money over the next three years, with base salaries of $20.05 million, $22.5 million, and $32.21 million, respectively, putting him near the top of the market. However, he wants reassurance. If the 49ers cannot make that happen, the Chicago Bears should consider a deal to bring Williams in to protect Caleb Williams‘ blindside.
