This is how Lisa Vanderpump arranges floral bouquets – and how we can make ones just like them

Fans of the Vanderpump cinematic universe will know that Lisa Vanderpump's two main loves in life are dogs and flowers. The multi-hyphenate reality television show star, actor, and entrepreneur has tackled the former with her Vanderpump Dog Foundation; however, the latter has remained a hobby and passion – until now.

Teaming up with Bloom Haus, the Bravo powerhouse has officially launched Vanderpump Blooms – a collection of flower arrangements approved by the fleur aficionado herself, which are giving us lots of floral room decor ideas .

According to Vanderpump, the collaboration stems from a longstanding intrigue in flora – in fact, her first flower memories can be drawn from her childhood in the English countryside.

'My children always used to say to me – instead of telling them to 'smell this rose' because we used to have a rose garden where we lived in the countryside, I always used to say, 'No, don't smell it. Inhale it. Stick your face right in it,' Vanderpump tells H&G when reached by Zoom call.

'But that [interest] came from my grandmother. I've talked about my grandmother quite a lot on reality television because she lived with me on and off for 25 years, six months of the year. I remember her always cutting flowers, but for me, it was my passion.'

This zest for florals has transitioned well into adulthood. As documented on Vanderpump Rules, the former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star has long been making elaborate bouquets for her Villa Rosa home. The arrangements in the Vanderpump Bloom collections are just as magnificent, including eight different mixes of fresh flowers.

For the flower-curious, there is an option to follow a QR code and try out arranging for oneself. Alternatively, flowers can be purchased in a ready-to-display vase. While there is certainly strategy and planning involved in arranging flowers, one of Vanderpump's goals with this project is to make putting bouquets together an accessible and seamless process.

'We thought, wouldn't it be fun to just make some bouquets and arrangements? A lot of people are scared of flowers,' she says. 'They don't know how to make it work. So these are some arrangements you've already made or beautiful little situations in glass vases that just look a little bit different from anything else.'

When asked about her personal favorite arrangement in the collection, Vanderpump says it depends on the season.

'For Thanksgiving, I think the peaches and the warm colors feel really good,' she tells us. 'Red is nice at Christmas, same with white. And I like purple. I actually did [arrangements] based on my favorite colors.'

Her favorite flower? There are multiple answers.

'I love hydrangeas because they're so big and fat. I suppose if I had to choose my favorite, it probably would be roses, but I also like flowers that last for some time. If you get some beautiful chrysanthemums and mix those with roses, that will really hold up.'

Apart from seeking out seasonal blooms, Vanderpump does not follow trends so much as she considers a flower's location within the home when decorating with flowers .

'I'm a maximalist,' she says. 'But I do think it depends where you're putting something. If you're having dinner, it's nice to keep them low. A lot of people don't have the time and money to spend portions on big arrangements so nice, compact little things at the center of the table, by the bedside, on a coffee table, in your lounge... I think it gives the room light. To me, a room looks much more cared for when it's got flowers.'

With years of practice under her belt, Vanderpump offers up some advice on caring for and preserving flowers (hint: treat them as you would a beloved pet).

'You have to look after flowers,' she explains. 'They are like little animals that are living in your house. You have to give them fresh water and powder. Keep them out of direct sunlight. 'If you want them to last, I really look after mine and make sure that i get as much life out of them as possible.'

Vanderpump Blooms x Bloom Haus is available to shop now online and at Kroger Co. stores .
