4 quick and successful organizing tools our editors love using in their bathroom

    1. Under sink cabinets

As the head of Solved here at Homes & Gardens, Punteha van Terheyden is an expert at finding storage solutions for any space.

'In my small ensuite bathroom, there isn't too much room for storage,' she says. 'I bought an under sink cabinet and it has transformed the space. It has two shelves and makes use of dead space I wasn't doing anything with before.'

When it comes to organizing under the sink , van Terheyden houses all her cleaning supplies and extra shampoos on the bottom shelf, while the top shelf has two fabric boxes (such as the Mainstays Collapsible Fabric Cube Storage Bin available at Walmart ) from her old freestanding bathroom drawers. 'My husband has his items in one, and I have mine in the other, meaning there is no clutter over spill,' she explains, so they're great to organize a family bathroom .

'I live in the UK and bought the Lilypad Elsie Under Sink Unit from Dunelm , which is narrow enough to fit the space, and I love the fluted doors and it's matte sage green color. In the USA, there is a great fluted-front item that looks similar available on Amazon (shown below in black).'

There are mistakes to avoid when organizing a bathroom cabinet , such as failing to categorize items and keeping expired products, so keep these in mind when sorting yours.

All prices correct at time of writing.

Revolving organizers are often used for organizing spices , and Homes & Gardens ecommerce content director Lindsey Davis loves them for her bathroom, too.

She says, 'Using them in my under sink vanity means nothing is out of reach, and there is still room in the dead space in the corners for taller items and spares.' As they spin, they're perfect to organize a bathroom with too much stuff , as they keep all products accessible.

We recommend the Oizeir Lazy Susan Turntable available at Amazon , which rotate 360-degrees, and are made of clear acrylic to easily see everything you have at a glance.

    3. Free-standing shelving

'I have next to no storage in my bathroom, and no options to install wall storage, a vanity, or shelves,' says Homes & Gardens content editor and renter, Chiana Dickson . Because of this, Dickson's solution is to use a small, freestanding shelving unit next to her sink, to organize her bathroom with no storage .

'An open shelf might seem like a clutter magnet, but having everything on display forces me to keep everything need and tidy, and regularly review what I am using to minimize mess,' to make decluttering makeup and skincare a breeze.

'A small unit helps to keep everything I need beside the sink to organize my morning routine and make getting ready for the day simpler,' she adds.

These come in a variety of sizes to fit any bathroom space, so are great to organize a modern bathroom or to compliment more vintage bathroom ideas .

As one of the things organized people have in their bathrooms , Homes & Gardens home tech editor Dan Fauzi uses a shower caddy to avoid any bathroom organizing mistakes .

'I swear by these YASONIC 5-Pack Corner Shower Caddy shower shelves available at Amazon to keep everything neatly organized,' they say. 'I live in a shared house, so being able to keep everything separate and off the ground makes all the difference,' away from common types of household mold that often grow in the dampness of a shower.

'Plus, this set from YASONIC is rust-proof and requires no drilling! Perfect for renters,' they add.
