Big first inning powers Red Wings to 10-4 win in Buffalo
An eight-run first inning powered the Rochester Red Wings to a 10-4 victory over the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday in Buffalo. All eight runs in the first came with two outs, as the Wings (6-2 in the second half, 44-37 overall) opened the scoring when Juan Yepez and Trey Lipscomb drew back-to-back walks, with Lipscomb’s walk forcing home Darren Baker from third to make it 1-0. Shortstop Jackson Cluff followed with a single to bring in Riley Adams, then Alex Call lined a 2-2 fastball from Chad Green to center to bring in two more and extend the lead to 4-0.

Syracuse women’s lacrosse picks up transfer from Rochester area
Syracuse, N.Y. —The Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team has picked up a transfer from the Rochester area. Ava Peers of Fairport, N.Y., who spent her freshman season at the University of Louisville as a midfielder, will transfer to Syracuse for the 2025 season. Police investigate after man arrives at hospital with gunshot wound
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. At 3 p.m., officers went to Rochester General Hospital for a walk-in gunshot victim who came by a private vehicle. The victim was a 28-year-old man from the city who had a gunshot wound to the lower body. He was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
