HONESDALE, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police have arrested a man after they say he robbed a train car and brewery.

According to the Honesdale Police Department, on July 25 the Stourbridge Lion Railroad reported that someone had broken into a railroad car.

Surveillance cameras around the area showed a man, later identified as 20-year-old Michael Tyahla, trying to break into a railroad car and then into the Runaway Train Brewery, police stated.

Officers said they learned Tyahla was the suspect involved and went to his house to question him. Tyahla told police that he stole several bottles from the brewery and took a large map and green suitcase from a railroad car, as stated in the affidavit.

Tyahla has been charged with burglary, trespassing, theft, and other related offenses.
