    Upcoming traffic advisories on O’ahu

    HONOLULU (KHON2) — Traffic alerts expected in early July on O’ahu:

    Westbound H-1 Freeway between Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Salt Lake Boulevard underpass

    • HDOT notifies road users that three lanes will be closed from 8:30 p.m., Saturday, June 29, through 6 p.m., Sunday, June 30. This schedule will still be in effect over the next two weekends of June 29 and July 6, for the H-1 Freeway Salt Lake Rehabilitation Project.
    • The estimated completion date for this project is March 2025.

    Punahou Street across from Washington Middle School

    • Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole and equipment on Monday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. impacting traffic in the McCully area.
    • HECO will close a section of the makai-bound lane of Punahou Street between S. King Street and Philip Street fronting Jack in the Box restaurant, and traffic contra flowed. The fast-food chain will remain open, with its driveway in Punahou Street blocked along with street parking closure during the repairs.

    Safety signs and traffic cones will mark the job sites and guide motorists. Flagmen will direct traffic, if needed.
