HONOLULU (KHON2) — Tonight through early Friday, gusty trade winds as dry and stable air settles over the islands. These trade winds will gradually diminish over the weekend and into next week as dry conditions persist.

The air mass is becoming drier and more stable. Shower activity has decreased since this afternoon, with minimal rainfall compared to recent days. Relative humidity is generally decreasing while trade winds are picking up in many areas.

Gusty winds will persist over the next few days. The areas typically prone to strong trade winds, such as South Point and Leeward Kohala on the Big Island, and leeward West Maui, may experience wind gusts approaching advisory levels. Trade winds are forecasted to ease to breezy levels by the weekend and remain relatively dry through early next week.
