A woman attempting to change a flat tire in the Columbia River Gorge was hit and killed by an AMR ambulance in the early morning hours Thursday, July 18. Ambulance crashes into disbaled vehicle on I84, leaving one dead
HOOD RIVER COUNTY - On Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 12:45 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84, near milepost 54, in Hood River County. The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Ford Econoline AMR Ambulance, operated by 42-year-old, Amanda Hancock of Benton City Washington, left the lane of travel and struck a Chevrolet Camaro, owned by 55-year-old, Geraldean Edna Martin of Portland, Oregon, while it was disabled on the side of the roadway with a flat tire. The Camaro operator was outside of the vehicle at the time of the collision. He was declared deceased at the scene.

The Resources Available for Migrant Access to Services group is led by the Oregon Child Development Coalition in Hood River and Wasco Counties.
