Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation Outdoor Job Fair is August 1
JACKSON CO. – Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation’s outdoor job fair is Thursday, August 1, from 10 a.m. until noon and 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crossroads Community Park at 101 East Tipton Street in Seymour. Organizers say that 15 local companies have agreed to take part.
Indiana Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Trafficking Firearms to Chicago

An Indiana man has been handed a ten-year federal prison sentence for trafficking firearms from Indianapolis to the Chicago area, including 15 guns that ranged from semiautomatic rifles to untraceable "ghost guns". Devante T. Brown, age 29, and co-defendant Corey Sartin, 21, both from Indianapolis, conducted sales of these firearms to undercover law enforcement officers on several occasions in 2022.
Westfield veteran calls for change to property tax law
A Westfield veteran has started a grassroots campaign to lobby elected leaders at the state level to increase the property tax deduction for veterans in Indiana. Mike Madigan served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. An Illinois native who lived in Wisconsin before moving to Indiana in 2020, Madigan said when he moved to Westfield, he was surprised to find the property tax exemption in the Hoosier State is far different from what was available in Wisconsin.
Complaint about former Evansville mayoral candidate's fundraising isn't moving
EVANSVILLE — The Indiana Election Commission has taken no public action on a February complaint accusing former Evansville mayoral candidate Gabe Whitley of filing fraudulent campaign fundraising reports while seeking office locally.
