Annual Kneading Conference in Skowhegan kicks off Maine's largest bread fair
SKOWHEGAN -- It's that time of year again where lovers of bread and baking make their way to Skowhegan for Maine's largest bread fair. The Maine Artisan Bread Fair is on Saturday July 26, but leading up to it is the annual Kneading Conference on Thursday and Friday that organizers say has grown to be a premiere national.
Sandy River Ramblers to Play at Lincoln Home Lobsterbake August 10
The Annual Lobster & More community event returns to The Lincoln Home Saturday, August 10, with a lively five member bluegrass band, The Sandy River Ramblers. The fundraiser will be held 4-7pm under a large tent, rain or shine. Mouthwatering Maine lobsters, barbecue chicken, clams, Damariscotta River oysters, corn on the cob, potato and pasta salads, and delicious blueberry cake will be served. Wine, beer and a soecialty drink will be available for purchase.
Call for artists: ‘Abstract’ show at River Arts
River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for their upcoming juried show, “Abstract.” Artists are invited to submit works that are nonrepresentational as well as abstract work inspired by landscape, figure or still life. Submissions are now open until the drop off deadline Saturday, Aug. 10 at 4 p.m. The gallery is pleased to announce the juror will be Alan Crichton of Liberty, Maine.
Troop 213 Spend Week at Camp Hinds
Damariscotta Scout Troop 213 wrapped up another successful year at Camp Hinds in Raymond earlier in July. During the week of July 14-19, the troop participated in several camp wide activities, placing second in the clean camp challenge and sharing first place in the skills competition with the Camden Troop 200.
