I-Ride offering free rides to the polls in Isabella Co.
ISABELLA CO. (WNEM) - I-Ride said it will be providing free rides to and from early voting locations in Isabella County starting Saturday, July 27, through Sunday, Aug. 4. City of Mt. Pleasant and Union Township residents will vote at Powers Hall on the campus of Central Michigan University, according to I-Ride. All other Isabella County Townships will vote at the Commission on Aging, located at 2200 S. Lincoln Road.

Cramer Named to Academic All-America Team
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan wrestler Alex Cramer has been named to the Academic All-America At-Large Third Team by the College Sports Communicators. Cramer, a redshirt senior from Grayslake, Ill., is a computer science major with a 3.95 grade point average. He is one of 17 student-athletes named to the third team and one of just 47 named to the first, second or third team. The student-athletes represent eight sports and Cramer is one of six wrestlers so honored.

Kenneen Arndt, 77, of Rhodes
Kenneen, loving mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bay City, Michigan on November 8, 1946, to the late Kenneth & Bernice (Rabideau) Wyatt. Kenneen married the love of her life Gene Arndt on January 25, 1965. She was the owner operator of the K & A Interiors; she had a variety of interests and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, music and spending time with her feline companion of fourteen years, Zeba. Kenneen left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Gene II (Laurie) Arndt, Fawn Arndt, Angie Leuenberger, David Arndt. Grandchildren Gene, Holli (Jordan), Cami (Keaton), Tracey (Brad), Sarah (Andrew), Nathan (Kaylee) Dylan, Collin (Caroline), Alex (Dylan), and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gene and a great grandson Braydon Rood.
Hemlock House Fire Under Investigation
Crews from the Richland Township Fire Department responded to a house fire in Hemlock Tuesday. The fire was reported in the 16000 block of Doyle Road at about 3:10 A.M.. According to officials, the fire appears to have started in the attic of the home. The occupants, two residents and a number of pets, were able to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported.
Eric Donat Hayes
Eric Donat Hayes, age 37, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2024. Eric enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, tinkering with small engines, and drawing. He loved his family and friends, but the love for his children ran the deepest. He was preceded in death by his brother Joshua Hayes, Grandparents Jack and June Hayes, and Grandfather Paul Gagnon. He is survived by his parents Dana and Tammy Hayes of Harrison, his brother Steven Hayes of Georgia, his Grandmother Jenny Gagnon, along with his three children Alexondra, Kailynn, and Holdenn all in Harrison. Along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
