Obituary: Carol Lynn (Rusak) Clute
Carol Lynn (Rusak) Clute, age 69 of Clare, passed away on June 25, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland surrounded by loved ones. Carol was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 15, 1955, to Rose (Rohmer) and Richard Rusak. She grew up in Gladwin before attending Central Michigan University, where she earned a B.A. in Home Economics and Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in fashion design. On April 30, 1983, Carol married Dave Clute in Clare, where they went on to raise a family and live for the next 41 years.
Carl Priemer, 82, of Beaverton
Carl Priemer, 82, of Beaverton, passed away on July 11, 2024. He was born on September 20, 1941, the son of Adolph and Louise (Schroder) Priemer in Detroit. On February 5, 1982, he married Maxine Spangler in Gladwin. He worked for Michigan Bell and owned Priemer Excavating in Beaverton. As owner of Priemer Excavating, Carl worked as a sexton for several townships in Gladwin County. Carl enjoyed watching NASCAR and loved his job working on heavy equipment and “playing in the dirt,” helping many in Gladwin County.

The Red Door Art Gallery held an artist reception this last Thursday for world renowned muralist and street painter, Wahpeton native, Shawn McCann. McCann, a 1998 Graduate of Wahpeton High School, is known for many things across the Twin Towns. His artwork is a permanent part of the Wahpeton, Breckenridge and North Dakota State College of Science landscape in the more than half dozen murals he has painted.
