Many city and county residents reported having large trees uprooted during or after the storm. The soil is saturated and no longer able to hold the roots of some larger trees. Both the City of Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County precincts opened their four precinct barns from wednesday through Friday so residents could discard storm debris.     A large tree in front of an Oak Avenue business was uprooted after the soil became too saturated to hold the roots. The Tuesday night storm caused multiple downed limbs and fallen trees, as well as property damage and flooding.

    Another large tree, this one in front of a home on Houston Street, fell during the intense storm Tuesday night. Cleanup efforts were underway all over Sulphur Springs Wednesday morning. Several large trees fell as a result of more than seven inches of rainfall since May 1.
