    New corps officers appointed for Hopkinsville’s Salvation Army

    A couple has been appointed new corps officers for Hopkinsville’s Salvation Army, according to a press release from the faith-based agency that provides shelter, food and other services to people facing financial hardships.

    Lieutenants David and Brittney Donegan were appointed to the Hopkinsville office, effective June 17, after serving for three years at the Paducah Salvation Army, according to a press release.

    The Donegans, who are originally from Tennessee, bring “a wealth of experience and a passion for community service in their new roles,” the release states. Along with traditional Salvation Army roles, they “played a pivotal role” in disaster relief following the 2021 tornadoes in Western Kentucky.

    In Hopkinsville, the Donegans will oversee all Salvation Army operations for Christian, Todd, and Trigg counties.

    “We are honored and excited about this new chapter in our ministry,” said Lt. David Donegan. “We look forward to serving the Hopkinsville community, building on the strong foundation laid by our predecessors, and continuing to provide hope and support to those in need.”

    The Donegans were commissioned as Salvation Army officers in 2021. They have a 5-year-old son, Ryan.
