Upton Invites Community to Send-Off for Retiring Police Chief Michael Bradley
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Retiring Upton Police Chief Michael Bradley is getting a send-off from the Town and you are invited. Bradley announced last month he would be leaving after 30 years with the Town to take on the role of Executive Director for the Massachusetts Chief of Police Association. His last official day is August 16 and on that day the Town is inviting the community to attend a reception in his honor at the Community Center. It will be held from Noon-2pm that day. Wayland Weston Rowing Says “So Long” to 9-Year Director Mike Baker
Like many of the rowers he has coached over the last 9 years, Wayland Weston Rowing Association’s Program Director Mike Baker is going to college. An email sent yesterday to friends of WWRA said that in late August Mike will be leaving WWRA to take on the role of Boatman at MIT Crew. In case you are not a rower, the Owl assures you that Boatman is a critical role on any crew team, overseeing boathouse operations for all of college’s rowing teams. I can still remember Dave, the Boatman at Wellesley Crew, without whom our team would have been a jumbled mass of boats, oars and trailers.

Great Lakes Brewing Co. Enters Massachusetts, Rhode Island
CLEVELAND – Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) announces its distribution expansion into Massachusetts and Rhode Island with Atlantic Beverage. The brewery began its market launch on July 19, in conjunction with the release of seasonal Oktoberfest in cans and draft. In addition to the fall favorite, the brewery’s entry into the market includes new 2024 brands Juicy Vibacious Double IPA and Strawberry Pineapple Wheat in cans, and Midwest IPA in cans and draft.
