The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District briefly issued evacuation orders after a fire broke out in the City of Antioch on July 4,. According to Contra Costa County Fire, as crews were battling multiple fires, a vegetation fire broke out in the 2700 block of Hillcrest at approximately 10:00 pm. A short-time later, additional resources were requested as the fire made its way up a hill towards Lotus Street which caught multiple fences on fire–evacuations were then ordered.
