    Jeffers Bend hosting Naturefest on Sept. 21

    Naturefest, the annual event at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center that promotes water quality, health and wellness and outdoor activities, will be 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

    Guests will find activities and booths related to several topics, including wildlife, the botanical garden, bees, the butterfly garden, birding, storytelling, rain gardening, a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, arts and food.

    Additional activities will include canoe rides, corn hole, disc golf, face painting and hayrides.

    Several sponsors help the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee with Naturefest. They include Christian County Master Gardeners, city of Hopkinsville, Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, Pennyrile RC&D Area Council and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

    Admission is $10 per car, $15 per bus (up to 25 people) and $30 per bus (more than 25 people).

    Jeffers Bend is located on Metcalfe Lane with access from North Main Street next to Riverside Cemetery. Additional information about Naturefest is available by calling 270-885-5600 or 270-886-6719.
