The fight over brine spreading is a rural-urban tension
(The Center Square) — Rural-urban tensions split lawmakers on whether to reinstate spreading oil and gas wastewater on roads to suppress dust. “It all comes down to risk assessment. Are the impacts to the environment outweighed by the benefits created?” Burt Waite, a retired geologist and hydrologist, said during a House Republican Policy Committee hearing on brine spreading. “Most of us would agree that some environmental impact is inevitable and acceptable to have safe roads to drive on.” ...

How CJ Donaldson could remind people who he is in upcoming season
Two seasons ago, nobody knew the name CJ Donaldson. He was just a low rated TE recruit that came to West Virginia and was moved to running back for more depth at the position. But in the first game of the season against Pitt, Donaldson exploded for 125 yards on just seven carries.
Small gains could lead to a big leap in 2024 for West Virginia

No timetable for return of Steelers QB Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson’s first training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers has not started off on a high note. When speaking with reporters at the close of practice, Wilson could offer no timetable for his return. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Brian Batko reported that Wilson wanted to be back today, but Mike Tomlin is being patient with the injury. There are 14 more practices left with two weeks before the first preseason game on August 9. It was Tomlin’s decision to sit Wilson out after the quarterback awoke with calf tightness on Thursday. The injury certainly doesn’t bode well for Wilson as he attempts to learn a new offensive system for the umpteenth time in his 13-year career. It does benefit Justin Fields, though, who would’ve been on the short end of reps distribution. Russell Wilson said he wanted to practice yesterday but it is going to be smart about it.
