NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Southwest Power Pool is taking precautionary measures to safeguard the power grid. On Monday, the Southwest Power Pool’s 14-state balancing authority area said that the Energy Emergency Alert 1 is no longer in effect. The alert was due to the continuing high temperatures and tightened electric reliability conditions. It remains in a period of precaution for power crews to monitor the lines.
