OROVILLE, Calif. - The North Valley Community Foundation and Butte County native Aaron Rodgers have deployed $100,000 to help Thompson Fire evacuees. The North Valley Community Foundation said these grants come from their Wildfire Relief and Recovery Fund, which was created to rapidly help organizations working with individuals affected by wildfires, and the Aaron Rodgers NorCal Recovery Fund, which the New York Jets quarterback created at NVCF after the Camp Fire hit Butte County in 2018.

According to ODF the new 43 acre fire is in mop up stages. The road is currently closed due to fire operations but is expected to open with pilot cars this afternoon. The Dead Indian Memorial Road Fire, located northeast of Ashland, is now 100% lined and has been GPS mapped at 43 acres. The cause is currently under investigation.
