Players drafted out of West Virginia University earned the 10th highest amount of signing bonus slot money out of any college in the nation. Five Mountaineers were drafted in the 2024 MLB Draft, headlined by 7th overall pick JJ Wetherholt. Other Mountaineers drafted include David Hagaman (4th round), Aidan Major (5th round), Derek Clark (9th round), and Tyler Switalski (16th round). Monsignor Bonner wide receiver Jalil Hall narrowed his list of scholarship offers down to a top five of West Virginia, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse and Duke and took officials visits to West Virginia and Maryland. The Mountaineers extended an offer in December and things only continued to build between the athletic pass catcher and the Mountaineers football program led by offensive coordinator Chad Scott and wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall. Hall is being targeted at the Z or X position in the West Virginia wide receiver room and gives the Mountaineers an impressive option there with his overall skill set.

It's about that time again, which is crazy because it feels like just yesterday I was writing the spring camp previews. Back then, football preparation was taking a backseat to the pending basketball coaching search. This time around, fall camp will be in the spotlight of the WVU sports world. Today we start the position-by-position preview for preseason camp. The Mountaineers went 9-4 last season, including beating up on UNC in a bowl game that ended with Neal Brown being covered in mayonnaise. West Virginia football enters the 2024 season with significant wind in its sails, so fall camp should be particularly interesting to watch next month. At this current time, there is no media access schedule.
