Three Men Sentenced in Fatal 2022 Robbery

INDIANAPOLIS — A man met with two other men in 2022 to sell some clothes. That meet-up ended in murder, and now the men responsible are paying the price with their lives.

It was March 6th, 2022, when Kerwin Pollard agreed to meet Julius Thomas and Carlos Bryant in Indianapolis. Pollard and a woman traveled across Indiana, agreeing to meet with people over OfferUp, a mobile app, and sell clothes. It was business as usual for Pollard until Thomas and Bryant insist he follow behind them to meet a third man.

That man was Antonio Wynn. Little did Pollard know he had just met his killers.

Once the men came to a halt at Ingram Street, Pollard was fatally shot twice in the stomach.

The men ordered the woman out of the car. They stole the car and the clothes inside.

However, the woman would not go quietly. She handed over every piece of incriminating evidence to Indianapolis detectives. Police had descriptions of the cars involved, the numbers of the stolen credit cards, and phone numbers. All of that information led to the eventual arrest and conviction of Thomas, Bryant and Wynn.

After a seven-day trial in August, all three men were sentenced to a combined 172 years in prison.

Julius Thomas was sentenced to 62 years in prison. He was convicted of murder, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, and armed robbery.

It was a similar story for Carlos Bryant. He was convicted of murder, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, and armed robbery. Bryant received 61 years in prison.

Finally, Antonio Wynn was sentenced to 49 years in prison. Wynn was convicted of murder, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, and armed robbery.

“The defendants’ unprovoked attack on these innocent victims was a devastating tragedy for our community,” said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears in a Monday press release, “these sentences ensure that the defendants will now live with the consequences of their egregious actions.”
