    Man killed in Hot Springs shooting Sunday morning

    HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Police in Hot Springs are investigating after a man was shot and killed Sunday morning.

    According to the Hot Springs Police Department, 44-year-old Johnny Lee Simon was shot in the 400 block of Wade Street just after 6 a.m. Sunday. Simon was pronounced dead on the scene, officers said.

    Investigators said that 24-year-old Essie Fuller III was involved in the shooting and taken into custody. He is facing a charge of theft by receiving of a firearm.

    Fuller is being held at the Garland County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to make a court appearance Aug. 13.

    Officials with the HSPD said that an investigative file has been sent to the Garland County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to determine possible charges.
