Flash Flood Warning issued for Houston County until 9 P.M. on Saturday
DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)– Heavy rain and thunderstorms have caused trouble across lots of the Wiregrass over the last few hours. Due to heavy rainfall ongoing in Houston County, a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for until 9PM. This includes the city of Cottonwood, Dothan, Taylor, Ashford, Rehoboth, and the rest of southern Houston County.
Flash flood warning for Houston County Saturday night
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning at 6:56 p.m. on Saturday in effect until 9 p.m. for Houston County. "At 6:56 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," adds the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
