    Houston Police: Officers handle child endangerment investigation, theft

    ​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

    Between Aug. 12 and Aug. 18, the Houston Police Department answered 176 calls for service and initiated 26 traffic stops resulting in seven citations and 25 warnings.

    • On Aug. 12, officers were called to assist the Division of Family Services with a child endangerment investigation. Investigation is ongoing.
    • On Aug. 12, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of North U.S. 63 for an assault. Taylor W. Kilgore, 33, of Houston, was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail. Kilgore was later formally charged with second-degree domestic assault.
    • On Aug. 13, officers took a fraud report involving cyber devices and a fraudulent check. The investigation is ongoing.
    • On Aug. 16, officers were called to a residence on Grand Avenue for a well-being check. The subject was later transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
    • On Aug. 16, officers cited Shelia Smith, 58, of Bucyrus, for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
    • On Aug. 17, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a theft investigation. A suspect was identified and investigation continues.
    • On Aug. 18, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Hiett Street for a domestic disturbance. A report will be forwarded to the city attorney for review.
