Authorities give update on missing Howell County girl

UPDATE: The missing girl may be traveling to Virginia via unknown route or conveyance, authorities announced in an update.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol announced Saturday afternoon that authorities are seeking to locate a missing 17-year-old girl from south-central Missouri.

The Howell County Sheriff’s Department issued an “Endangered Person Advisory” for Abigail Katherine Lawless, a white female who disappeared at midnight from 10807 County Road 9470 at West Plains. She is 5’9” with brown hair and brown eyes, and weighs 162 pounds. A clothing description is not available.

Authorities said she left a note stating she was better off living on her own and is possibly traveling to Kansas City with an unknown person she met online.
