    Grant application opens for program that has benefited area

    A grant program that has funded projects in this area is ready to open an application round.

    The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’  Division of State Parks announced the 2025 grant period for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is open.

    Locally, it has previously helped fund the Houston Municipal Swimming Pool and Rutherford Park .

    The grants are available to cities, counties and public school districts to be used for outdoor recreation projects. For more information, including downloading the grant application, details and to register for a grant application workshop, visit https://ow.ly/YZgH50SZMp7
