The Texas County office of the University of Missouri Extension will host an invasive plant workshop and field day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at the extension office, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston.

The free event includes lunch for all registered attendees.

In the morning, participants will concentrate on identifying plants and methods of treatment, and hear from Missouri Department of Conservation and Quail Forever biologists about cost-share opportunities for tackling invasive plants.

After lunch, attendees will go into the field to practice identifying plants and learn how to safely mix and apply herbicides to combat invasive plants. All levels of participants are welcome, from beginners to invasive plant experts.

Seating is limited, so early registration is recommended. Sign up online at extension.missouri.edu/events/invasive-plant-workshop-field-day or call 417-967-4545.
