Missouri Ozarks Community Health recently welcomed Adam Weaver, DDS, to its dental team.

Dr. Weaver began serving as dental director for Missouri Ozarks in August. He is offering preventive and restorative dental care as a general dentist at the Ava clinic. Dr. Weaver also plans to provide oral surgery services, such as wisdom tooth extractions, across the Missouri Ozarks Community Health system, including at the Houston clinic.

“We are thrilled to bring Dr. Weaver and his experience to our team,” said Jennifer Heinlein, chief operations officer at Missouri Ozarks Community Health. “It is not easy for patients in our rural areas to access such services, so we are hopeful that he will help us to fill a big need in the six communities we serve.”

Dr. Weaver has more than a decade of experience working for federally qualified health centers. He said he looks forward to joining the team at Missouri Ozarks Community Health.

“It’s not often that you find an organization that has the same commitment that I do to treat every individual with the same respect, dignity and care that I would give my own family,” said Dr. Weaver.

Dr. Weaver earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University. He then received his doctorate in dental surgery from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Dr. Weaver assumed his role from Dr. Sybil Fortner, who served as dental director since 2007, and has decided to devote her time to caring for patients on the MOCH Dental Bus.

“Over the past 17 years, Dr. Fortner has built our dental program to serve all patients with respect and dignity while improving their overall oral health,” said Tim Shryack, CEO at Missouri Ozarks. “She is now continuing the legacy she started on the dental bus of reaching children in remote, rural locations with high-quality, comprehensive care that otherwise they might not receive.”

Dr. Weaver will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. He accepts several private insurances, as well as Medicaid, sliding fee and full pay patients. To make an appointment with Dr. Weaver at the Ava clinic, call 417-683-5739.

Missouri Ozarks Community Health is a federally qualified health center established in 1996. Missouri Ozarks serves the counties of Douglas, Wright, Texas and Ozark. Various services are offered at clinics, including primary medical care, dental care, behavioral health care, prenatal care and pediatric care.
