    Commission makes hire, hears from constituents

    Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Aug. 28 and 29.

    Members:

    • Commissioner Scott Long attended the CCAM Summer Board meeting in Mountain Grove.
    • Created and emailed a letter of authenticity for Burdine Township to provide to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
    • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Tyson Troutman as a full-time employee in the collector/treasurer’s office.
    • Discussed the Poor Farm Cemetery with Public Administrator Tina Garrett.

    In other business, commissioners heard from:

    • Jeff Beierman concerning Senate Bills 190 and 756.
    • David Scantlin with updates on FEMA projects.
    • George Sholtz concerning FEMA and SB 756.
    • A concerned citizen about issues with a road near Arthur and Lundy roads.
