Stories of kids left unsupervised by Minnesota child-care providers appear nearly every week in state investigative reports. Child-care workers in Rochester and Montrose left 2-year-olds unsupervised on playgrounds, according to documents posted in mid-July. The week before, a memo described a 3-year-old slipping through a St. Paul center's unlocked gate and walking onto University Avenue. Reports published earlier this month chronicled how a toddler and preschooler were briefly left alone in Brooklyn Park and Chaska classrooms.

Spring Grove man injured in Fillmore County motorcycle crash
RUSHFORD VILLAGE, Minn. – A motorcycle crash in Fillmore County Saturday sent the rider to the hospital. It happened around 10:17 am on Highway 43, one mile south of Rushford. The Minnesota State Patrol says Terry Lee Lund, 57 of Spring Grove, was riding north when he lost control and his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle ended up in the ditch.

Man dies at North Memorial after stabbing at Minneapolis party
MINNEAPOLIS — A man died in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times at a party in Minneapolis, police said. According to officials, officers responded to a stabbing in a home in the 3400 block of North Penn Avenue around 3:15 Sunday morning. Police found a 31-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.
St. Cloud Team Wins MN Legion Softball State Title
St Cloud Hype Post 76 captured the MN Legion Softball State Championship held in Bemidji by defeating La Crescent 3-2 Sunday. Ella Voit threw the complete game, giving up 3 hits, 0 earned runs, and struck out 10 batters. Sam Dingmann drove in the first run with a single in the top of the 4th inning. St. Cloud added a run in the 4th on a wild pitch. La Crescent scored a run the bottom of the 4th on an error by St Cloud. Ella Voit drove in an insurance run in the top of the 6th after an Ellie Meyers triple. La Crescent added a run in the bottom of the 7th and had the tying run at 2nd base, but a strikeout ended the game and St Cloud won the championship in their first year as a Legion team.
Rafters Chop Down Loggers in 6-3 Win
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Rafters final home game before the all-star break was a good one, as they took down La Crosse 6-3 at Witter Field. The Loggers took the lead early against WR starter Bryson Moore on a Luke Anderson double and a Derrick Mitchell sacrifice fly.
