By Louise Beasley • Texas County Library Director,
2024-05-20
While May flowers come from April showers, May is also a month with the Memorial Day holiday which is a time for us to remember those who died in active military service.
In the month of May, Texas County Library branches will be displaying books that were purchased and donated in memory of persons that have passed. The library loves and appreciates this way of remembering and honoring those who had a love of reading! Please come in and check out your local library’s display.
Texas County Library’s Summer Reading Program theme for 2024 is “Reading Is a Passport to Countless Adventures.”Books, presentations and activities will be centered around travel and information about other countries. The program will run from June 3 – 28. Registration run from May 28 through June 3 at all library branches (Houston, Cabool, Licking and Summersville).
With our limited budget, monetary donations in any amount would toward the program be very much appreciated. These funds will purchase books, supplies and incentives to help all kids who participate. Donations may be mailed or dropped off at any library branch, or we are happy to come pick up your monetary donation. Just phone us at 417-967-2258.
Reading really is a passport to life’s adventures, and you can play a vital part!
