School board makes personnel decisions in closed session

Members of the Houston board of education handled personnel matters during a closed session Monday, May 20.
The board:
Unanimously accepted the following resignations:
Sarah Williams, elementary teacher, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Alexis Hunter, paraprofessional, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Rebekah Wann, elementary teacher, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Melanie Foreman, middle school social studies teacher, assistant cross country coach and middle school softball coach, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Jeff Richardson, middle school physical education teacher and Tiger Development Academy (TDA) director, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Adam Vandiver, as assistant scholar bowl sponsor, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Chellsi Hicks, preschool teacher, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Alexander Carpenter, custodian, after June 30.
Rebecca Helm, high school English teacher and National Honor Society sponsor, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year.
Unanimously accepted the following employments:
Brett Rawlings, as middle school head football coach, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Rodney Preheim, as middle school assistant football coach, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Todd McKinney, as high school football assistant coach, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Jessica Meier, as elementary yearbook sponsor, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Sarah Shelton, custodian, effective immediately pending a background check.
Eric Brown, custodian, effective immediately pending a background check.
Anita Ellis, CRT trainer at the Exceptional Child Cooperative, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Greg Huffman, high school part-time mathematics teacher, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Jason Pounds, as high school pep club sponsor, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Zachary Venn, custodian, for the 2024-’25 school year pending a background check.
Kirsten Romines, middle school career/technology teacher, for the 2024-’25 school year.
Kailie Kinder, SLP-A at the Exceptional Child Cooperative, for the 2024-’25 school year.
The board approved the employment of Michael Tottingham, as high school football assistant coach, for the 2024-’25 school year on a 6-0-1 vote. Jeff Gettys abstained.
The board approved the employment of John Jordan, as diagnostician at the Exceptional Child Cooperative, for the 2024-’25 school year on a 6-1 vote. Marty Merckling voted no.
The board approved an increase to Sarah Mead’s full-time equivalent from 0.4 to 0.6 as a certified occupational therapy assistant at the Exceptional Child Cooperative for the 2024-’25 school year.
The meeting convened at 7:55 p.m. and adjourned at 9:18 p.m.
