    TCMH Healthcare Foundation raises record amount at annual golf tournament

    TCMH Healthcare Foundation hosted its 18th Annual TCMH Charitable Golf Tournament sponsored by Simmons Bank on Saturday, June 8, at the Houston Municipal Golf Course. With a full bracket of 36 teams participating, the Foundation raised an unprecedented $24,213.01, beating the previous record set just last year.

    “This year, we achieved a record-breaking fundraising total of $24,213.01,” Jeff Gettys, president of the TCMH Healthcare Foundation, said. “This marks the fourth consecutive year we have set a new fundraising record, reflecting the enthusiasm and dedication of our community and sponsors for the Foundation.”

    The tournament featured an exciting 18-hole two-person scramble, divided into four flights. Winners were announced across the Simmons Bank Championship Flight, West Plains Bank & Trust A-Flight, Town & Country Bank B-Flight and Hiett Land Title C-Flight. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three teams in each category.

    Winners of the Simmons Bank Championship Flight were Roger Tune and Derrick Shelton. Ron Murray and Larry Barton claimed second place, while the duo of Dr. Steve Hawkins and Gary York secured third place.

    The A-Flight, sponsored by West Plains Bank & Trust, saw Justin Shelby and Larry Benoist clinch the first position. Roger and Deanna Tune finished in second place, while Gary Lee Taylor and Harlin Hutchinson finished third.

    Ty Albrecht and Aaron Spaulding won the Town & Country Bank sponsored B-Flight, followed by Curt and Jennifer Hugenot in second place and Kevin Stilley and Mike Williams in third.

    In the C-Flight, sponsored by Hiett Land Title, Nathan and Mike Wilson secured first place. Kevin and Bill Crowley clinched second and Jeremy Wink and Andy Edwards finished third.

    Additional contests around the course added an extra level of excitement. David Snodgras came out on top in the “Closest to the Pin” competition at Hole #3. Wilson Murray came closest on VIP Properties “Closest to the Pin” competition at Hole #4. Lane Wade claimed victory in the “Longest Putt” contest at Hole #6. Justin Brown won the Piney River Ford “Vegas Par-3” competition and Gary York and Loquetta Nash won the Sun Solar “Longest Drive” competition at Hole #9.

    “I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all sponsors, participants and volunteers who helped make this event a success,” said Gettys. “Their contributions are not only appreciated but are also critical to our ability to support the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

    Proceeds from the tournament will provide scholarships for healthcare-related occupations and resources for capital projects. The TCMH Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to ensure quality healthcare services at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
