As the director of Texas County Library, you would think I spend most of my time reading.

I wish that was the case. Most of my days are spent behind the scenes working to maintain the operations of the county’s four library branches so that we can provide the public the best service possible.

When I do get a chance to read, I thought I would start recommending the books that I liked for patrons to check out as well. I just finished “The Collected Regrets of Clover” by Mikki Brammer. This is the story of Clover, a Death Doula, who explores how befriending death can help enrich our lives. I liked the idea “Death Doulas” are meant to sit and listen to a person on their last days without judgment. Wonderfully written and leaves you feeling both sad and happy at the same time about death!

New additions to the Houston shelves
