    School board makes personnel decisions in closed session

    Members of the Houston board of education handled personnel matters during a closed session Tuesday, June 18.

    The board:

    • Unanimously accepted the resignation of Hannah Bradley, middle school mathematics, at the end of the 2023-’24 school year. Bradley will be charged a $1,000 fee for breaking her contract after June 1.

    Unanimously accepted the following employments:

    • Elizabeth Tapen, high school English teacher, for the 2024-’25 school year, pending a background check.
    • Rowdy Douglas, middle school assistant softball coach, for the 2024-’25 school year, pending a background check.
    • Regan Lundin, high school counselor administrative assistant, for the 2024-’25 school year, pending a background check.
    • Bonnie Cotrel, high school National Honor Society sponsor, for the 2024-’25 school year.
    • Austin Garrett, custodian, pending a background check.
    • Larry Benoist, middle school assistant girls’ basketball coach, pending a background check.
    • Matthew Peterson, high school/middle school drama sponsor, for the 2024-’25 school year.

    The meeting convened at 8:22 p.m. and adjourned at 9:06 p.m.
