Houston Police: Officers work accidents, child neglect case

The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:
Between June 17 and June 23, the Houston Police Department answered 173 calls for service and initiated 17 traffic stops resulting in six citations and 16 warnings.
On June 17, officers were called to assist the Division of Family Services Children’s Division with a child neglect investigation. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
On June 17, officers responded to U.S. 63, near S. Industrial Drive, for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found that a tractor-trailer had turned from S. Industrial Drive onto U.S. 63 and struck a light pole. The light pole was knocked to the ground and the tractor-trailer driver had left the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
On June 18, officers were dispatched to U.S. 63, near O’Reilly Auto Parts, for a motor vehicle crash. A 1999 Chevrolet pickup operated by Donald Burchett, 50, of Houston, collided with a 2023 Nissan Rogue operated by Wyoming Padgett, 19, of Raymondville. There were no injuries reported. Burchett was cited for failure to yield right of way.
On June 18, officers investigated a series of burglaries and thefts at the Houston High School Baseball Field. During the investigation, a 33-year-old female, a 34-year-old male and a 20-year-old male were arrested for the crimes. A report was forwarded to the Texas County Prosecutor for formal charges.
On June 18, a 33-year-old female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. A report was forwarded to the Texas County Prosecutor for formal charges.
On June 18, officers responded to a private property motor vehicle crash at McDonalds. No injuries were reported.
On June 19, officers responded to Casey’s General Store for a theft. Debra L. Ellison, 60, of Solo, was cited for Stealing Under $750 (Shoplifting).
On June 19, officers responded to U.S. 63, near Taco Bell, for a motor vehicle crash. A 2010 Lexus operated by a 17-year-old female was traveling south on U.S. 63 and struck the side of a 1986 GMC dump truck operated by John Hood, 59, of Licking. The 17-year-old female was cited for careless and imprudent driving.
On June 20, officers responded to U.S. 63, near O.C.C.S., for a motor vehicle crash. A Ford pickup operated by Cody Hayes, 26, of Houston, struck a GMC pickup operated by Daniel Goszewski, 55, of Fenton, in the rear. No injuries were reported. Hayes was cited for following too closely.
On June 21, officers responded to a private property motor vehicle crash at the Eatin Place. There were no injuries reported.
