    Houston Police: Officers work accident, theft

    ​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

    Between June 24 and June 30, the Houston Police Department answered 173 calls for service and initiated 13 traffic stops resulting in eight citations and 13 warnings.

    • On June 24, officers responded to U.S. 63, near First Street, for a motor vehicle crash.  Both parties initially left the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
    • On June 25, officers responded to Walmart for a theft investigation.  Officers cited Elizabeth D. Heiney, 29, of Houston, and Judy K. Dodd, 72, of Houston, for stealing under $750 (Shoplifting).
    • On June 27, officers responded to Chestnut Street for a reported property damage.  The suspects were using a pellet gun to shoot streetlights.  The investigation continues.
    • On June 29, officers cited Lisa M. Young, 59, of St. Louis, for Driving While Suspended.
    • On June 30, officers arrested Crystal D. Pickens, 40, of Springfield, on two active Cabool Municipal warrants per charges No Insurance and Fail to Register a Motor Vehicle.  Pickens was transported to the Texas County Jail for the two warrants, which had a total bond of $500.
