Texans' Stroud Sparks Amber Rose Rumors After Celebrity Softball Game

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is on top of the world. After a historic rookie season that earned him 48 of 50 first-place votes for Offensive Player of the Year, Stroud has been just about everywhere.

From taking questions on Radio Row and accepting his award in Las Vegas to playing in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Indianapolis, the Stroud world tour is off to a rousing start. In between those two stints was a stop in Houston where he appeared in Travis Scott’s 2024 Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic.

In typical Stroud fashion, he was dominant, winning the game’s MVP honors and hitting seven home runs in the event’s home run derby.

His night, and the perception of it, didn’t end there.

Stroud was seen leaving with rapper Amber Rose, a celebrity known, in part for once dating Kanye West. In the Taylor Swift era of the NFL, social media locked in the two, speculating whether or not the NFL’s next celebrity couple had been born.

As it turns out, they were wrong, as Rose, 40, quickly revealed on social media .

“We literally don't know each other and only met yesterday at a softball game,'' she wrote. "The sprinter left me and (Stroud) was nice enough to give me a ride to my hotel. [Thanks] again.”

The quarterback that stole Houston’s heart charmed the city again in a story that turned heartwarming rather quickly.

Stroud has spoken extensively this season about the role religion plays in his life, along with the importance of being a good role model and leader. Perhaps most notable was his effort to speak out about his beliefs regarding criminal justice reform.

Being a franchise quarterback is as much of a duty on the field as it is off it, and controversy has a nasty tendency to linger, regardless of whether it’s deserved. While it’s not our job to judge the 22-year-old’s relationship decisions, Texans fans can breathe a sigh of relief that he’s living his best life and treating others well in the process.
