The Rockets just added arguably the best shooter available in this year's NBA Draft.

They selected former Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard with the No. 3 overall pick, ending weeks of speculation of what direction they might go with the selection.

The first two picks, Frenchmen Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr, were expected to go in those two spots.

But the mystery was what the Rockets would do with the third pick. It turns out a Houston team which ranked 23rd in 3-point field goal percentage is interested in a player like Sheppard, who shot 52 percent from 3-point range for Kentucky last season.

Sheppard, 20, is listed at 6'3" and 187 pounds. He averaged 12.5 points per game for the Wildcats last season.

It's not immediately clear how he will fit into the Rockets' rotation, but there will be a role for him because of the simple fact he's a knockdown shooter.
